The short version
- We only collect what you give us through our forms, plus basic technical data needed to run the website.
- We use it to reply to you, deliver your software project, and run our business — we never sell your data.
- We don't use advertising or analytics trackers on this website.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are
SammyFold Technology ("SammyFold", "we", "us") is a software development company based in Accra, Ghana. We design and build custom software — web applications, enterprise systems and AI-powered products — for businesses and individuals. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use sammyfoldtech.com, contact us, or work with us as a client or partner.
We aim to handle personal data in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and recognised international data protection practice.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact & project enquiries — your name, email address, subject and message.
- Client reviews — your name, and optionally your role, company, the project we built, your rating and review, phone number and email.
- Partner applications — your name, organisation, email, and optionally phone, website, location, the type of partnership and your message.
- Newsletter — your email address.
- Chat assistant — the messages you type into the "SammyFold AI" chat on our website.
- Clients — when you hire us, the business and contact details, contracts, project information and payment records needed to deliver your project and manage installment payments.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data — like most websites, our servers record basic request information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time. We use this to keep the site secure and working.
- Cookies and similar storage — a small number of essential cookies and browser storage items. See our Cookie Policy.
3. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiries and give you quotes and proposals.
- To plan, build, deliver and support the software you order from us, and to manage your payments and installment plan.
- To review and respond to partnership applications.
- To publish client reviews you've submitted (after we approve them) and, if you gave a phone number, to send you a one-time thank-you SMS.
- To send you our newsletter, if you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us.
- To answer questions through our chat assistant.
- To keep our website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We rely on your consent (for example, when you submit a form or subscribe), on what is needed to perform a contract with you, on our legitimate interests in running and protecting our business, and on legal obligations such as keeping financial records.
4. Client reviews
When you submit a review, our team checks it before it appears on our website. Once approved, we show your name, role, company, project, rating and review text. Your phone number and email are never shown publicly. If you'd like your review edited or removed, just contact us.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our website and business, and only as much as they need:
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Railway | Hosts our website and database. |
| Amazon Web Services (S3) | Stores website images and files. |
| Arkesel | Sends SMS messages, such as review thank-you texts. |
| OpenAI | Powers the chat assistant — messages you type in the chat are sent to OpenAI to generate replies. Please don't share sensitive personal information in the chat. |
| Cloudflare (cdnjs) and Google Fonts | Deliver code libraries and fonts used to display our pages. Like any website request, they receive your IP address. |
| Banks and mobile money providers | Process the payments you make to us. |
Some of these providers process data outside Ghana. Where that happens, we choose reputable providers that protect data with appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.
6. Data in the software we build for you
When we build or maintain software for a client, that system may hold personal data about the client's own customers or staff. In that case the client controls that data and we handle it only on their instructions, to build, test, deploy and support their software. We keep it confidential and do not use it for any other purpose.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries and partner applications — for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and generally no longer than two years if no work results.
- Client and payment records — for the length of our working relationship and as long afterwards as tax and accounting laws require.
- Published reviews — until you ask us to remove them or we stop displaying them.
- Newsletter — until you unsubscribe.
8. Security
We use HTTPS encryption across our website, restrict access to personal data to staff who need it, and use reputable hosting providers. No system is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information and will act promptly if a problem occurs.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, where we don't need to keep it for legal reasons;
- stop using your information for a particular purpose, or withdraw your consent (for example, to unsubscribe from our newsletter).
To make a request, contact us using the details below. To delete your data, follow the steps on our Data Deletion page. We'll respond as quickly as we can. If you're not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can also contact Ghana's Data Protection Commission.
10. Children
Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
