The short version
- We only use essential cookies needed to keep the website secure and to let our staff sign in.
- We don't use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies.
- Because these cookies are essential, we don't need to ask for your consent — but you can still block them in your browser.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. They let the site remember things between page visits — for example, that you're signed in. Websites can also use similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, which we explain below.
2. Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
csrftoken | Security cookie that protects forms and accounts against cross-site request forgery attacks. | Essential | 1 year |
sessionid | Keeps SammyFold staff signed in to our management dashboard. Only set when staff sign in. | Essential | 2 weeks |
messages | Briefly holds on-screen notifications in our staff dashboard (for example, "Review approved"). | Essential | Until the message is shown |
We don't use cookies to track you across other websites, build advertising profiles, or measure visitors with analytics tools.
3. Browser storage & the SammyFold app
| Item | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|
sf-pwa-dismissed (local storage) | Remembers that you closed the "Install SammyFold app" prompt, so we don't keep showing it. | 7 days |
| App cache (service worker) | Saves copies of our public pages, icons and images so the website loads faster and works offline, including when installed as an app. | Until updated or you clear site data |
Our staff dashboard, sign-in pages and form submissions are never stored in the app cache.
4. Third-party services
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and code libraries from Cloudflare (cdnjs). Your browser connects to these services to load our pages, so they receive your IP address and basic browser information. We don't allow them to set advertising cookies through our website.
Our website also links to other sites, such as LinkedIn, GitHub, YouTube, WhatsApp and the projects we've built. Those sites have their own cookie and privacy policies, which apply once you visit them.
5. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you clear cookies and site data for a single website. Blocking essential cookies may stop some features from working, such as staff sign-in.
If you've installed the SammyFold app, clearing site data for sammyfoldtech.com also clears its offline cache. To remove the app completely, uninstall it like any other app on your device.
6. Changes to this policy
If we start using new cookies — for example, analytics — we'll update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent. See our Privacy Policy for more on how we handle personal information.
